Before you turn into a raisin inside and out, check out these 4 tips to keep you warm and hydrated…
Water is the best way to keep yourself hydrated… common sense!
but what happens when winter is here and you are not getting enough H20: dry lips and skin ;-D
Let’s be honest, in winter, we tend to overlook the importance of hydration because it’s cold outside.
We tend to leave our training shoes in the closet – I don’t sweat, I don’t need to drink… type of attitude.
Getting enough water is just as important in winter as it is in the summertime.
So let’s start with these easy tips to help you get some extra H2O
8 Glasses per day
Studies have shown that we should be drinking at least 8 glasses per day.
Starting the day with a warm cup with lemon juice will set you up on the right path.
Spice up your drinks by adding lemon, ginger, mint…
Engaging your taste buds is the best way to build motivation.
Embrace winter with soups
Eat your veggies especially the ones packed with water.
Having a warm cup of your favourite soups will be an enjoyable way to keep you warm, nourished and hydrated.
A win-win ;-D
Time for a drink
Set a timer on your phone for every hour.
We don’t drink because we don’t think about it.
Create a ritual by stepping away from your desk for 2-3 minutes to hydrate, stretch and release any tension you have.
This is my favourite one.
Not only it keeps you hydrated and warm, it will also alternate your mood.
My favourites ones are:
- Ginger: great for winter, warming you up from the inside, great for the digestive system
- Cinnamon: I love the smell and the taste of it. Great for the digestive system and stimulate the lower limb circulation
- Ginseng: need more concentration at work. This will help you keep your mind and body of the job. If you are like me, cold feet and hands during winter, this should help you with your blood circulation.
You can find some organic herbal teas. I have been enjoying the ones from Teas.com.au and I love them:
